Portrait of Adalynn at Two Years Old

For the past few years, I’ve been drawing a portrait of my niece every Christmas. I think they would be cool for her to have and look back at one day, and it’s a good way to force myself to brush up on pencil sketching as well. The most recent drawing was a bit late, and she probably doesn’t look quite like this anymore because she’s growing fast, but hopefully it captures what she looked like at the time. I wanted to use a photo that, to me, represents what it’s like to be two.

Lady of the Mushrooms - Sketches

I’ve been experimenting with a style that’s not my usual lately, and here are some sketches from part of a larger upcoming piece called “Lady of the Mushrooms.” It's inspired by my girlfriend, her love of eating mushrooms, and pinup art.

Some quick sketches and gestures followed by something more detailed. Apparently, my scanner doesn't like my 10% cool gray Prismacolor marker; there is not that much white in the original.
