Portrait of Adalynn at Two Years Old

For the past few years, I’ve been drawing a portrait of my niece every Christmas. I think they would be cool for her to have and look back at one day, and it’s a good way to force myself to brush up on pencil sketching as well. The most recent drawing was a bit late, and she probably doesn’t look quite like this anymore because she’s growing fast, but hopefully it captures what she looked like at the time. I wanted to use a photo that, to me, represents what it’s like to be two.

The Deftones have been my favorite band since I was 12 years old. They were the first concert I ever went to, I always bought their CD's the day they were released, and my room was covered with their posters. I drew this after I heard member Chi Cheng passed away.
